Kai Torkelson brings three decades of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy, culminating in his role as Commander of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

A lifelong learner, he holds advanced degrees in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Ocean Systems Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
